O.1 RFAA - Restricted Free Agency Auction
Starts March 24th of each year and ends on April 10th unless otherwise posted on the calendar.
In this auction all tagged players will be up for auction. The starting price is the first bid in the auction.
All 1st Round Tagged players will have a starting price of 70 GBs.
All 2nd Round Tagged players will have a starting price of 35 GBs.
All 3rd Round Tagged players will have a starting price of 25 GBs.
An opening bid is defined as the first bid exceeding the starting price.
a) This is an auction bidding process using GBs that uses a 24 hour bid timer to determine when a player's auction has ended.
b) The 24 timer begins on any individual player when an opening bid exceeding the starting price on that player.
c) After an opening bid is made, the bidding for that player remains open until 24 hours passes without the high bid changing owners.
d) Opening bids made be placed on any player until the RFAA ends.
e) Bidding may continue after the April 10th deadline, however no new opening bids may be placed.
f) The RFAA will take place in the Black Market thread on the forum.
g) A bid must consist of the GBs AND the exact compensation being offered. A BID THAT DOES NOT CONSIST OF BOTH WILL BE INVALID.
h) Compensation is a pick in the round equivalent to the round the player was tagged. e.g., a first for a first, second for a second.
i) A pick in the next subsequent rookie draft (i.e. 2017 RFA using a 2018 pick) is allow ONLY if no 2017 pick is owned.
j) Using a 2nd round 2018 pick because you already have in play all your 2017 2nd round picks is not allowed.
k) Owners who receive a pick from the subsequent draft (2018) will also receive 20% of the winning bid as compensation in addition to the draft pick.
l) The owner who tagged the player will participate in the auction along with all other teams
m) The owner who tagged the player can match the highest bid during the auction without having to increase the bid. For clarity: the current owner does NOT have the right to match the final winning bid, just to match the current high bid during the action. This can be done by just stating "Match".
n) Once a bid is placed you may not rescind it for ANY reason.
o) If you placed a bid that you do not have the compensation for then 25 GB's will be removed from your budget for each occurrence and your bid will be removed.
p) Compensation picks that are acquired during the RFAA may not be used as compensation to place a bid on another tagged player.
q.) You cannot trade Gang Bucks during the RFAA period.
r.) You cannot use picks acquired via trade to bid on another RFAA tagged player.
RFAA Example: Shonn Greene was slapped with the 2nd Round tag by team A. His starting salary in the RFAA is 35 GB's. Team B bids 37 GB's. If Team A wishes to keep Greene and not receive compensation, Team A can match the 37 GB bid and reclaim high bid status. The next bid on Greene would need to be 38 GB's to take over his control. This will continue (with Team A having the right to match bids) until 24 hours have passed since the last bid (or match) has been made.
O.2 UFAA - Unrestricted Free Agent Auction
Players that are included in the UFAA are those whose contracts have expired and whom have not been tagged.
a) The UFAA will start on June 1st at 9:00am EST nominations will end on June 18 at 11:59pm EST. Auctions may go beyond this deadline, but no new auctions will be allowed past this deadline.
b) The auction will be held on the MFL auction board.
c) Proxy Bidding will be used.
d) Once 24 hours passes without the high bid changing teams, the player goes off the board.
e) The minimum bid is 1 GB.
The UFAA will have three stages:
STAGE 1 - When UFAA starts, each owner may nominate up to TWO players for auction. An owner who has started TWO auctions may not start another one until at least one of those auctions ends. An owner may not have more than TWO auctions started during STAGE 1 for any reason.
STAGE 2 - When the auction is in stage 2, each owner may nominate up to THREE players for auction. An owner who has started THREE auctions may not start another one until at least one of those auctions ends. An owner may not have more than THREE auctions started during STAGE 2 for ANY reason.
STAGE 3 - When the auction is in stage 3, each owner may nominate as many players as they wish for auction.
The method above is meant to keep the UFAA auction moving along at a respectable pace. The call to switch stages is the judgement call of the President and/or Vice President and not necessarily a hard and fast rule based on auction numbers.
O.3 Overbidding
Owners may NOT bid more GBs on players than they currently possess. In the event an owner bids more than they have, the bid will be voided and the previous bid becomes the top bid and the clock will reset to 24 hours. The owner will receive a penalty of 25 GBs. If 25 GB are not available, 25 GBs will be deducted from the 300 GB Stipend at league rollover the following season. Each additional occurrence will result in a 50 GB penalty.
O.4 Double Copy Bidding
Make sure you do not bid on a player you already own. In the event this occurs, the bid will be voided and the previous bid becomes the top bid and the clock will reset to 24 hours. The owner will receive a penalty of 15 GBs for the first infraction and 35 GBs for additional occurrence.
